Stony Brook, NY – In commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, participating shops and restaurants in Stony Brook Village will be part of a festive Ladies Night Out, Thursday, October 20 from 6 pm to 9 pm. The Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s Annual Walk for Beauty will also take place the following Sunday, October 23 and proceeds raised for both events will go toward a targeted research fund at Stony Brook Medicine for Breast Cancer Research and the WMHO Unique Boutique for prosthesis and wigs.
Ladies Night Out will include live music throughout the village including WALK-97.5, pink cocktails, foodie specials, sales, raffles and more. Upon arrival visitors can pick up their free “goodie bag” at Flair Boutique & Bridal filled with surprises from shops and restaurants. Only 150 bags will be handed out so visitors must register online at stonybrookvillage.com/lno to receive one.
This year’s Walk for Beauty…in a Beautiful Place will be held Sunday, October 23 with registration beginning at 8:30 in the Village Center. It is the 23rd year WMHO has hosted the event and includes a 4K/6K Walk and the “Hercules on the Harbor” 10K timed Run, sanctioned by USA Track & Field.
