Spring Musical Theatre Tribute Performances return to Stony Brook with
“The Debbie Reynolds Story”
Stony Brook, NY – If you’re looking for live musical theatre right in your own back yard, Stony Brook Village is the place to be. “The Debbie Reynolds Story,” opening May 6 at WMHO’s Educational & Cultural Center, will be entertaining as well as compelling as it touches on the dramatic life and career of this iconic star. The on-again, off-again relationship with her daughter, Carrie Fisher, will also be highlighted by the actress portraying Ms. Reynolds. The limited engagement luncheon performances, by St. George Productions, are set in the year 1977 and will feature the best of this American actress, singer, film historian and humanitarian. The show will also present a “Salute to Stars Wars” dance number, the music of Rosemary Clooney and a tribute to “Singing in the Rain,” which starred Debbie Reynolds, Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor. Many regard this as the best movie-musical ever made.
Sponsored by Roosevelt Investments, performances run through June 15 and take place Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:30 am and Sundays and 12:30 pm May 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 17, 18, 20, 21, 25, 31 and June 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15.
