Summer is for lovers in Stony Brook Village. Stroll through the colonial village and use your Stony Brook Village Center Discount Shopping Card in one or more shops in the Stony Brook Village Center. Continue walking on Main Street and see the beautiful flowers in bloom as you walk toward the Stony Brook Grist Mill c.1751. See the miller grind grain into flour as it has been done for over 300 years. Then visit Avalon Park and Preserve immediately across from the Stony Brook Grist Mill (a 200 acre preserve open to the public from dawn to dusk.) A photographer’s paradise! Pick up a Photo Contest brochure at the Three Village Inn – You could win!  Use your $50 voucher at Mirabelle Restaurant and Tavern and enjoy dinner.

 

You may want to add a visit to the Jazz Loft (located next to the Three Village Inn) open Wednesday through Saturday (12 – 5 pm).  It includes live performances as well as jazz memorabilia – check the Jazz Loft website www.thejazzloft.org.

ADVENTURES ON THE OPEN ROAD

 

Package includes three (3) days and two (2) nights- stay in standard room and breakfast two days at the Three Village Inn.  You will receive a Stony Brook Village Center Discount Courtesy Shopping Card and two tickets to “Motorcycles through Time”.  A summer exhibit featuring over 30 bikes on display from 1904 through the present day, memorabilia, artwork, David Uhl prints, sculptures and more at the Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s Educational & Cultural Center (ECC).

 

You may want to add on Kayak/Paddleboard or Bike rentals (ask at front desk)

On Wednesday, August 22nd enjoy the presentation of the 55 + Club’s “Master Class” brought to you by The Ward Melville Heritage Organization and Nancy Burner Law Group, P.C. at the Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s Educational & Cultural Center (ECC).  Philosophy Professor, Harvey Cormier from Stony Brook University will share his personal story of his journey from Houston’s Third Ward Housing project to a faculty position at SBU and the role philosophy played in his journey.  Check for additional dates at www.stonybrookvillage.com.
