– With winter finally behind us, we all deserve a fun filled day of celebrating spring and one is planned in the Stony Brook Village Center!  Spring Appreciation Day will take place Saturday, April 16 starting at noon.

Along with the simple beauty of this historic area, nestled on the harbor, and a multitude of shopping and dining choices steps from each other, it won’t be hard to spend the entire day as visitors also enjoy a host of special events.  Festivities in and around the Village begin at Noon with ARF of the Hamptons, a Petting Zoo, kids crafts, live music with Burke & Brenda, WALK-FM and “Walkie Bear,” and Balloon Artist, “Thoroughly Modern Lilly.”  For yet another choice, the mega Three Village School District Wide “Spring Into Art” K-12 Art Show starts at 11 am in WMHO’s Educational & Cultural Center.  Admission to these events is free.

Additionally, The Jazz Loft, the new 6,000 s/f venue located directly across the street, will be hosting a one-day-only Sneak Preview that day from 2 pm to 5 pm.  Visitors can enjoy live jazz performances, wine and hors d’oeuvres, exhibits and collections containing thousands of items, some from the greatest band leaders of their day. Cost is $7 pp and children under 12 are free.  Register online at thejazzloft.com or call 631-751-2244.
